Pictures of my world and anything i find beautiful.

Best of Instagram – July 2016

I’m a bit late this month and been a bit slack with my posting, as I spent last month touring around the outback.  It was one hell of an adventure. I had an absolute blast and fell madly in love with Lightning Ridge.

I don’t post much when I’m on the road, as data needs to be conserved, so there aren’t as many photos to feature for this month. But here are my most liked photos for the month of July.

The beautiful big chunk of Labradorite that I lashed out and bought in Lightning Ridge.  I absolutely love this stone, it reminds me of the spectacular Aurora Borealis caught in stone. I just had to have it!

Capturing the ever quirky nature of Lightning Ridge.

My road dog and constant traveling companion, Leo.  He loves the road and driving as much as I do.

The beauty of the outback.  The desert holds a very special magic all of it’s own. No editing necessary.

The Club In The Scrub at Grawin, the opal fields of Lightning Ridge.

I was pretty damn stoked to make it to the Queensland border.

Leo again.  My daughter often leaves kisses on his head.

Best of Instagram – May 2016

image

Hi guys!
I’ve been really slack at posting lately, but the last few months I’ve had a lot going on.
So here is my best of Instagram for May.

image

From my recent Victoria adventure.  I was getting close to home here, camping just below the Victorian border at Nariel Creek.  It was a really beautiful and peaceful spot.

image

Another from my travels. This is the 12 Apostles, though there aren’t that many left now.  The Great Ocean Road was as amazing as I’d always dreamed it would be.

In Victoria.  This strange dead forest on the way to Cape Otway Lighthouse.

This is my way of cataloguing the stones and crystals I own.  Black Obsidian.

Leo and I on in our van.  Being on the road makes us happy.  He enjoys tripping around as much as I do.

Instagram – People’s Choice – Best Of February 2016

image

February, the last official month of summer, has been good to me.
A two week stay in Dalmeny, on the South Coast, was just what I needed.
It is so beautiful down there and I came home relaxed, refreshed and ready for my next big adventure.

These photos received the most likes on my Instagram account, spinning_webbs, during the month of February:

image

This shot of my portable Hekate altar, which I recently purchased.
I miss having an altar in my van while travelling and this lovely creation will fit my purpose perfectly.

image

God and Goddess, Herne and Hekate, my altar statues.

image

Honoring the full moon.
In the Southern Hemisphere, the February moon is known as Fruit Moon.

image

Taken in Mogo village, a little hippie haven on the South Coast.

image

Taken at Dalmeny.
This place is so beautiful.
I had such a great time staying beside the sea.

image

Taken from the Narooma Golf Course.
I accompanied Dad on a quick round of golf.
I don’t play golf, but I couldn’t miss the photo opportunity.

image

My travelling companion, Leo the staffy.
He loves travelling and has quickly adopted the van as his home on the road.
He is great company to have along on my travels.

image

I love dead trees, that make for some great shots.
This is one close by my home.

image

This shot scored me a feature with @cryptic_aesthetic
Exposure from these pages is always a welcome bonus, usually gaining me quite a few new followers.

It was unfortunate that during my stay in Dalmeny, my camera died.
Of all places!
Lucky I managed to get a few good shots before it died and my camera phone is very good.

In the end, it was going to be too expensive to have it repaired, so I decided on replacing it instead.
My new camera is a step up from my previous one and I’m looking forward to improving my photography skills learning to use it.
Good timing too, as my long awaited trip to travel the Great Ocean Road is coming up next month.
Definitely going to need a fancy new camera for that adventure!
Stay tuned.

Merry Esbat

image

Hope you are all enjoying tonight’s beautiful full moon, as I certainly am.

Tonight’s moon is in Virgo.
This is a good time to cast spells and perform workings in service of others.

To me, February’s moon is the Fruit Moon, which fits well with my local area.
This is the time when stone fruit is harvested and there is an abundance of delicious fresh fruit available.

The February full moon in the Southern Hemisphere can also be dubbed the following names:

Harvest Moon
Grain Moon
Sturgeon Moon
Red Moon
Wyrt Moon
Corn Moon
Dog Moon
Barley Moon

Merry Esbat!

Best Of Instagram – January 2016

image

The best of my Instagram, spinning_webbs, for January 2016.
One month down and this year is already flying by.

image

Coming in at 40 likes, my description of Fluorite was my most liked photo of the month.
Carry or wear fluorite to counter the effects of mercury in retrograde. Fluorite aids communication, so helps in counteracting the communication problems that can crop up during mercury’s retrograde.I also keep a chunk of fluorite on my computer, to keep things running smoothly. I do this all the time, but this can be particullarly usefulduring retrograde, when computer problems can be more common.

Surf’s Up.
I have been snapping some great photos during my time in Narooma, on the South Coast.

I met this seal sunning himself on the rocks of the Narooma breakwater.

What a final resting place!
This is the view from the Narooma cemetery.
The dead occupy prime real estate here.

Leo, moments before I let him off the leash.
He thought he was in heaven, having that whole huge beach to himself.
He had such a great time running himself silly, chasing seagulls and playing in waves.

People’s Choice – Best Of Instagram – November 2015

IMG_20151201_095626

November has just flown by!

This whole year has gone by so fast, I can’t believe it is almost over.

(I apologize for the absence of last months photos, but it got overlooked as I was going out of town.)

Here is the best of my Instagram for November, as voted by the people:

My altar to Gaia comes in at first place, with 45 likes. I use this altar as my working altar, it is where the magick happens. I love my Gaia statue, it is beautiful and the detail is amazing.

My Gaia altar is popular on Instagram, always pulling a lot of likes. Here, it is decorated for my Beltane observance.

A Week By The Water

I spent last week by Wyangala Dam.

This was my first trip away in my new caravan and I couldn’t be happier with it.

I’ve always loved to camp, but I’ve gotten to old for the basic tent set up.

Actually, I think I just got tired of my bed deflating in the middle of the night!

Not fun, believe me!

So, keen to give my caravan a try out, I hitched up and headed to the dam, with my faithful dog for company.

We had a great time.

I met some great people, spent a lot of time in and by the water and walked a lot of the trails.

I have been to this park many times, but I discovered a lot of treasures while out exploring.

As you can see, Wyangala is a beautiful spot for a holiday.

I did have an agenda for my trip though.

I wanted to catch up on some writing and churn out some publishable material.

This I did and I have a lot in store for you guys.

I also began my summer working Aphrodite’s magick.

I love working with Aphrodite, her energy is so full of life and confidence,

I always come away, after working with her, feeling great about myself.

This is another extended working, the balance to my Descent work over winter.

I began the first section of this work while in Wyangala, and it was the perfect place to begin.

I associate Aphrodite so closely with the summer sun, water and relaxation, so beginning my work with her while on holiday made it that much more special.

It was easy to tap into her energy while immersed in and surrounded by such natural beauty.

I enjoyed the luxury of my caravan during my stay.

Camping in a van is rather luxurious, with all the comforts of home and, best of all, a comfy double bed!

I also enjoyed travelling by myself for the first time.

My dog is a great little travel companion and you get the chance to meet people more than when you are with a partner or family.

My greatest dream is to travel the Great Ocean Road, something I have long wanted to do.

I’m planning to do it during early Autumn, when it’s not so hot and hopefully not as many tourists about.

This little trip has me keener than ever to hit the road.

People’s Choice – Best of Instagram – September 2015

Here are the most liked photos for September, from my Instagram account @spinning_webbs .

IMG_20150905_193011

Last month’s most liked photo was of my kitchen table. This month, my bed takes the blue ribbon. Both were adorned with the beautiful mandalas of Jaipur Art Factory.

In celebration of Ostara, my altar to Hekate, in all its spring glory.

Hekate features strongly in this month’s cut. Posted on the day of the Spring Equinox.

IMG_20150919_175135

This month I have studied astrology and it’s application in natal charts and the tarot. This is my birth chart, laid out in tarot cards.

My working altar, Gaia warms herself by the light of the growing sun.

IMG_20150912_103448

This is an astrological spread I lay out annually for my birthday. I can use it throughout the year, as it provides me with a card for each of the following twelve months as well as an overview of the year ahead.

Flower Moon

image

Such a beautiful full moon tonight!
Tonight’s moon is the Flower Moon, the first full moon occuring after Ostara, the Spring Equinox.
This beautiful moon is also a supermoon, and is the closest the moon will be to the earth this year.

In the Northern Hemisphere, a blood moon will soon occur, but unfortunately, we will not get to see this in Australia, as it begins after dawn for us.
A blood moon is a lunar eclipse, when the earth is positioned directly between the sun and the moon.
This causes the moon to appear red, which is actually the earth’s shadow moving across the lunar face.
image

This Flower Moon falls is the sign of Pisces, a sign that is represented by The Moon card in the tarot.
It is a sign in the element of water, and ruled by Neptune.
So the watery connections of this moon are strong.
I chose to harness this energy by taking a purifying bath, washing myself clean of worry and negativity, of which I have had my fair share of these past few months.

With the onset of Spring and the warmer weather, it is now comfortable enough to be outside enjoying the night sky.
There is nothing like performing a full moon ritual outside under the light of the moon.
This is something I really miss during the winter months.

If you are lucky enough to live in a location where you are able to view tonight’s eclipse, set yourself up outside and enjoy the show.
But if you are like me and are going to miss this one, don’t let that stop you.
The energy and light of the supermoon is truly magical, eclipse or not, get out there and soak up some silvery rays.

Moss Agate is one of my (many) favorite stones. It is my best stone for grounding and is unsurpassed in the garden. Plants really like Moss Agate nearby, and it helps rstore a sick plant or just those that need an extra boost. The depth inside this stone is truly amazing, it actually looks like there is moss growing inside. This is a stone I carry with me regularly.
