Another card that really hits home for me today. The Four of Cups is boredom, apathy and feeling stuck in a rut.
I find, when this card appears, that it is time for a shake up. The big contributer to this sense of apathy, is self-pity. Here is your wake up call, it is time to shake of the self-absorbed thinking and to pull yourself out of your self-enforced seclusion. Look around you, the opportunity and inspiration is there, you just don’t want to see it.
Today is Mabon, the Autumn Equinox. Make an effort to get out of the house. Go for a walk through the countryside and appreciate this beautiful time of year and the change of the seasons.
This card could also represent the gradual drawing inward of the waning year. The dark half of the year is the time for contemplation, meditation and introspection, just as the Four of Cups can symbolize this time of solitary self-evaluation.
